India’s tractor retail market witnessed strong momentum in FY 2025–26, reaching a new high. Total retail sales stood at 10,30,895 units, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 18.55%. Let’s take a closer look at how different brands and states contributed to this performance during the year.

FY 2025-26 retail tractor sales
In total, the industry recorded retail sales of 10,30,895 tractors, marking an increase of 1,61,290 units compared to FY 2024–25.
Mahindra & Mahindra retained its leadership position, with sales of 2,49,886 tractors and a market share of 24.24%. Swaraj Tractors followed in second place, selling 1,96,957 units, reflecting a growth of 18.98% over last year’s 1,65,543 units. Sonalika Tractors secured the third position with 1,34,027 units, capturing around 13% of the market.
Escorts Kubota ranked fourth with total sales of 1,20,978 units, witnessing a slight dip of 0.30% in market share compared to the previous financial year. Massey Ferguson completed the top five, recording sales of 1,18,322 tractors.

March, 2026 retail sales of tractors
In March 2026, tractor retail sales reached 79,783 units, registering an 11.02% increase compared to 71,866 units sold in March 2025. Mahindra & Mahindra led the market with sales of 19,642 units, holding a 24.62% share. Swaraj Tractors secured the second position with 16,007 units sold.
Sonalika Tractors recorded sales of 10,194 units, witnessing a marginal decline of 0.12% in market share compared to the previous year. Escorts Kubota maintained steady performance, selling 9,134 units in March 2026, up from 8,851 units in March 2025. Massey Ferguson ranked fifth with 8,489 units, showing a notable growth of 20.12% over the 7,067 units sold in March 2025.

State-wise performance of tractor sales
Uttar Pradesh emerged as the leading market for tractor sales, with total retail volumes reaching 1,46,811 units, accounting for 14.24% of overall sales. Maharashtra followed very closely in second place with 1,46,810 units, continuing its strong presence in the region.
Rajasthan ranked third with sales of 1,30,540 tractors, while Madhya Pradesh secured the fourth position with 1,20,956 units, contributing 11.73% to the total market. Gujarat completed the top five with 92,529 units sold. These states continue to dominate tractor demand, driven by their extensive agricultural activity and increasing adoption of mechanised farming practices.
