Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL), a major name in India’s agricultural and construction machinery sector, has launched its latest third-generation Ride-On Rice Transplanters — the Kubota KA6 and KA8 on November 17, 2025. Designed in Japan, these new machines blend modern technology with real-world field needs, offering improved productivity, better operator comfort, and accurate planting. The transplanters are now available in seven states — Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Telangana — regions where the shift toward mechanized paddy farming is steadily growing.

Advanced Engineering for Higher Accuracy and Productivity

The KA6 and KA8 are equipped with Kubota’s fuel-efficient engines, delivering 21 and 24 HP for reliable performance even in critical paddy fields. Both models feature a smart turning system for smoother manoeuvring and an automatic lift function that makes cornering effortless. A multifunction control lever simplifies operation, while the horizontal control mechanism ensures a consistent planting depth. The redesigned planting claws greatly reduce missed seedlings and promote uniform placement, and the new seedling-picking guide enhances accuracy—ultimately supporting better crop growth and more consistent yields.

Enhanced Operator Comfort and Better Field Performance

Operator comfort has been given special attention in these models. A wider platform allows for easier movement, while the ergonomic design helps reduce fatigue during extended periods of work. LED lights make it convenient to operate even after sunset. The lighter planting section and extended wheelbase enhance balance and stability, enabling the machine to cross larger ridges with ease and perform reliably in deep, wet field conditions for extended periods.

Competitive Pricing and Strengthened Dealer Network

Competitively priced at around ₹5–7 lakh (varying by dealer), the new transplanters are available through Kubota’s extensive network of 1,000+ dealerships. The launch strengthens EKL’s legacy of over 80 years in agri-technology, with 2025 sales further supported by government subsidies under schemes such as the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM).

Key Features of the New KA Series Transplanters

The KA series has been designed to suit farms of different scales. The KA6, powered by a 21 HP engine, is ideal for small to medium farms of 2–5 acres and offers 4-row planting with a coverage of up to 0.25 acres per hour. The KA8 model, with a stronger 24 HP engine, is built for larger operations and supports 6–8 row planting, covering up to 0.4 acres per hour, making it 20–30% faster than manual methods. Along with this, the Smart Turning System reduces overlap during turns, and the automatic lift function makes ridge crossing smoother. Redesigned planting claws and upgraded seedling guides help reduce missed planting and maintain a consistent 25–30 mm depth for more uniform crop growth. Operators also benefit from a wider platform, ergonomic controls, LED lighting for night work, a lighter frame, and a longer wheelbase for better stability in deeper water. The models further offer 20–25% better fuel efficiency, with an optional GPS for precise field mapping.

Leadership Insight

According to Escorts Kubota’s CFO and Whole-time Director, Mr. Bharat Madan, Indian farmers’ hard work ensures that every citizen is fed, even in the toughest situations. This launch event focuses on making the agricultural sector sustainable and productive, all while empowering Indian farmers. He predicted that the new KA series rice transplanters will transform the labour-intensive nature of the farming industry with convenience, innovation, and reliability. Both models are powered by Kubota’s fuel-efficient diesel engines, delivering low emissions and strong torque even in deep, muddy fields.

Summing up

With the introduction of the KA6 and KA8, Escorts Kubota continues to push the boundaries of agricultural innovation in India. These next-generation rice transplanters bring together Japanese engineering, farmer-centric design, and practical field performance. By enhancing precision, comfort, and efficiency, EKL aims to support India’s growing need for mechanized farming and strengthen the backbone of the country—its farmers.
