The overall sales of tractors in June 2025 were quite revolutionary for the Indian tractor sector. As preparations for the monsoon season were underway across the country, demand for tractors and other agricultural equipment increased in the rural economy.
As seeding began in several regions, farmers became more upbeat, leading to a high volume of tractor sales during June 2025. Compared to June 2024, tractor sales rose by 8.26% in June 2025, driven by improving crop cycles and hassle-free credit options.
Analyzing tractor sales 2024 v/s 2025: strong competition between leading brands
A total of 76,271 tractors were sold in June 2025, whereas the number was 70,451 in June 2024. The reason behind the growth was the huge cash flow from the Rabi crop harvesting and the early arrival of the monsoon.
Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the trustworthy names in the world of tractor sales. Mahindra & Mahindra emerged as the top performer, recording sales of 17,517 units, which boosted its sales by around 7.24% compared to last year.
Swaraj Tractors secured the second position with 14,283 units sold, marking a 7.39% increase in sales. In this list, the third name was Sonalika Tractors, which sold a total of 10,135 tractors, leading to a 0.16% market share growth.
With 9,805 tractors sold, Massey Ferguson secured fourth position. Compared to last year, the growth was 0.58%. Taking the fifth spot, Escorts Kubota sold 8,439 units, which is an 11.84% rise compared to last year.

Retail Tractor Sales: Q1 FY2025 vs. Q1 FY2024 (April–June)
In 2024, the tractor sales were 195,371 in April, May, and June. The overall retail sales of tractors in the same period of 2025 were 2,06,459 units, an increase of 5.67%.
Mahindra was the highest tractor seller with 48,083 units in the first quarter of 2025, more than 7.06% compared to 2024. After Mahindra, the name that was buzzing around was Swaraj Tractors, with 39,536 units of tractors sold, indicating a 5.60% growth compared to the same period in 2024.
Sonalika Tractors sold 27,541 units, up from 25,892 last year. Massey Ferguson followed with 24,152 units, gaining 0.04% market share. Escorts Kubota saw a 9% growth with 22,971 units sold.

State-wise analysis of tractor sales, Year-to-Date, June 2025
Uttar Pradesh is always leading the way in terms of selling tractors. A total of 33,283 tractors were sold in this state during June 2025, which was 16.12% of the overall national sales. Rajasthan secured the second spot with 29,423 units sold, followed by Madhya Pradesh, which ranked third with 25,469 units. These two contributed to 14.25% and 12.34% of national sales, respectively. Supportive government schemes and water availability played an important role in this growth.
If we are talking about the fourth spot, Maharashtra captured it with 24,332 units of tractor sales, holding 7.11% of the total market. In June 2025, the tractor market dominated the entire western and northern belts.

FY 2025–26 is shaping up to be a strong year for tractor sales growth. Apart from positive farmer sentiment, states with accurate rainfall and proper irrigation support played a crucial role in driving robust tractor sales growth.
To attract more buyers, brands emphasize offering more features, easy EMI facilities, and digital marketing. Advancing monsoons and strong sowing momentum created favorable conditions for sustained growth in the coming months.
