International Tractors Limited (ITL), the manufacturer of Sonalika and Solis tractors, is strengthening its international manufacturing presence with a $120 million agreement to assemble and produce tractors locally in Kazakhstan.
The agreement with Kazakhstani industrial company SP BKM was signed during the Kazakhstan-India Business, Trade and Investment Forum. The partnership will cover tractor supplies, local assembly, phased localisation of production, and the development of sales and after-sales service networks. For ITL, the deal represents a shift from simply exporting tractors to establishing a stronger local manufacturing and distribution presence in Central Asia. What Does the ITL-SP BKM Agreement Cover?
The $120 million agreement is designed to build a broader agricultural machinery ecosystem in Kazakhstan. Key areas include:

The ITL-SP BKM agreement was part of a wider India-Kazakhstan business engagement. The Kazakhstan-India Business, Trade and Investment Forum brought together more than 110 participants from Kazakhstan, representing around 65 companies across sectors including engineering, agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals, construction, oil and gas, IT and logistics. Kazakhstan has also identified around 95 commodity categories with an estimated export potential of $313 million to India. These include metals, chemicals, food products, construction materials and engineering goods. The broader engagement highlights growing efforts to expand commercial ties between the two countries beyond traditional trade.

SP BKM operates under TransTechMash LTD, a diversified Kazakhstani industrial group owned by businessman Marat Yessimseitov. The group has interests across railway equipment, defence, automotive and hospitality, including Terra Motors and Holiday Inn Express in Astana-Turan. Yessimseitov also founded BESQARU, a manufacturer of wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles, highlighting the group’s broader industrial capabilities.
