Mallika Srinivasan: The Queen of Indian Tractor Industry

During the 1980s, competition in the Indian tractor industry was at a peak. Amidst this fierce competition, there was a courageous lady who defied every odds and steered a struggling company to unprecedented success. That lady is none other than Mallika Srinivasan, and she is the CEO of TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited). She has achieved ample success, and she is the epitome of inspiration for all youngsters.

Challenging every norms

Mallika Srinivasan never stepped back when it came to challenging every norm. Conference rooms and boardrooms were male-dominated, as females hardly wanted to be a part of the meetings and conferences. Mallika Srinivasan was enough to make heads turn with her presence as the head of an agricultural machinery company. With an impressive academic record, she had broken several barriers in order to bring new perspectives into an industry. Her entry into TAFE was not only a case of legacy continuation but meant redefining such a legacy.

The struggle

People have this misconception that things were easy for Mallika. However, the statement is not true as she had to overcome various challenges, and some of her competitors were leading. In that struggling period, she had to come up with new ideas and innovations. These ideas and innovations lead to the manufacture of many tractors and other farming equipment.

Expansion to the fullest

When she donned the hat of a leader, the company achieved success without any failures. She provided the required technological base for improved quality of tractor development and directed the company’s world expansion. The TAFE brand name was established in markets beyond India, including the USA, Europe, and Africa. This added strength to its name as a contender in the agricultural equipment industry.

10,000 crore success story

Without any doubt, today, TAFE holds a turnover of 10,000 crore. It has only been possible because of Mallika Srinivasan’s vision and leadership. No one can imagine that in a month, TAFE sells a huge number of tractors. Farmers are happy buying tractors from the company and are meeting their farming requirements. There is not even a single doubt that because of Mallika Srinivasan, TAFE is now a globally recognized brand.

Inspiration for every women

Women get inspired by Mallika’s leadership spirit and dreams of becoming a leader like her. She proved that not only men, even women can don the hat of a leader. The success story set by her is a beacon of inspiration, proving that a true leadership and vision can overcome various obstacles. Undoubtedly, Mallika is an inspiration for every woman.
